With more songs in the CCLI top 500 than any other writer, Chris Tomlin is synonymous with modern worship music.
This past Tuesday, Tomlin released his latest album, “Burning Lights.” The album is filled with powerful new anthems for the church.
In an interview with Worship Leader Magazine, Tomlin talks about how he wanted to bring “Crown Him” to a younger audience.
There’s a song “Crown Him With Many Crowns” that I’ve wanted to reclaim for a long time for the younger generations. …The second line of that hymn has always been something I can’t ever shake. When I’m teaching songwriting classes, when I’m talking about lyrics, I always bring this line up, “Hark how the heavenly anthem drowns all music but it’s own.”
Those familiar with the music from the Passion conferences will also recognize “White Flag,” “Jesus, Son of God” and “Lay Me Down.”
With singable melodies that can be performed in a variety of settings, Tomlin has delivered another album of songs that the church will be singing for years to come.
Lead Sheets and audio previews are available here for every song on the album.
