First, a moving timeline for 2017 –
We helped my daughter and son-in-law move from their townhouse to their own house.
We sold a house and moved into a new house.
We moved Teresa’s mom and brother from their Horn Lake house to our house.
We also moved my son and daughter-in-law from Austin to our house and put most of their stuff in storage.
We moved our son and daughter-in-law from our house to an apartment and moved their stuff out of storage.
LifeWay is moving to a new headquarters.
To say this has been a year of heating pads and Icy Hot would be putting it mildly. 2017 goes down as “The Year of the Move” because every member of my family has moved (my youngest son moved out, too, but he did it basically on his own) and I’ve been loading the truck and driving it. And now, the offices of LifeWay are moving about a mile north to a new headquarters.
Life is full of change and we are all constantly in the process of moving. That’s why our commitment can’t be to a place – it’s to a person. It’s not about here – it’s about Him.
Living with this mindset means…
…Living every day with a keen awareness that – as the old Gospel song says – “this world is not my home, I’m only passing through.”
…Holding everything loosely, realizing we will keep none of it.
…Investing in the well-being of others while we can.
…Celebrating the here and now, because it’s the only time we really have.
…Living in anticipation of and in preparation for the only “Moving Day” that matters – our move to Glory!
I’ve got to stop writing and pack another box.
Pass the Ibuprofen, please.
