One of the fastest rising epicenters of creativity in the worship space these days is that of Bethel Music. The latest album from Bethel, “You Make Me Brave”, features live recordings of a gathering of new and established worship songs. The sonic landscape is expansive – largely comprised of the guitar-driven, innovative and enormous sound that Bethel fans have come to love, balanced well by simple piano-side moments of heartfelt intimacy. Each cut is marked by passionate and artistic worship leader vocal performances by Amanda Cook, Kristene DiMarco, Jenn Johnson, Leah Mari, Kari Jobe, and Steffany Frizzell Gretzinger.
As one might expect, there are a number of fantastic new songs on this project. Those that seemed to leap off of the speakers straight into my heart include It Is Well, Shepherd, We Dance, and Come To Me. It’s a tough call to single out a few on this project because there is such a unique stream of consciousness about the journey from start to finish. Comprehensively, the album is a tremendous worship experience.
The truly remarkable moments on the album are those subtitled “Spontaneous.” The move of the Holy Spirit in the time and place of the live recording for these songs is unquestionably discernable — a rare occasion for a recording! This album would simply be incomplete without these moments of pure and honest response to God’s revelation.
“You Make Me Brave” is evidence of the new things that God is doing in His Church. He is pouring a new song into the hearts and souls of a new courageous generation of worshippers. Don’t miss what the Lord is doing here! Get this latest offering from Bethel Music and bring these songs into your life and community of faith.
