    Dear Mike,
Thank you so much for all you do for those of us out in the trenches. The Reverence vs. Relevance was right on target.
    Blessings,
    Linda

Love the title for this – did you come up with it?

Thanks, Phil. No, I personally did not come up with the title. As I understand it, the conversation began with our events department (http://www.lifeway.com/events). They had hosted a similar discussion on Sunday School vs. Small Groups. During that discussion, one of the participants made a remark similar to “you should do this with worship.” The general consensus was “of course, we should.”
We knew that we wanted to address the worship wars, but wanted to elevate the conversation from musical style to the underlying philosophies that influence decisions about how worship is “done” in a congregational setting.
That’s a really long way of saying “I don’t know who came up with it,” but that was the thought process behind it.

Excellent discussion. Our church is considering these same questions. Thanks for being used of God to provide food for thought! Also, is the Sunday School video still available online?
