This week’s WorshipLife Podcast welcomes special guest, (and brother of our own, Craig Adams) Chris Adams. Listen as Mike, Craig, and Chris discuss how to maintain a healthy work-life balance, how to spot and prevent burnout, and how to craft your ministry role in a way that leans towards your strengths and gifts.
“It’s out of that core identity of being in Christ, that then ministry flows — as opposed to trying to earn that by succeeding in ministry.” — Rev. Chris Adams, Ph.D.
About Our Guest: Rev. Chris Adams, Ph.D., is executive director of CVM, and also teaches ministry leadership and pastoral care/counseling courses at Azusa Pacific Seminary. Chris is a third-generation pastor’s kid, and is also an ordained minister with a number of years of pastoral ministry experience, including eight years as a campus pastor at APU. Also a clinical psychologist, Chris conducts research in clergy health and well-being, and is a consultant to a number of denominations and seminaries in the areas of clergy candidate assessment, clergy health, and pastoral leadership formation.
WHY WorshipLife Podcast with Mike Harland: From the historic B.B. McKinney Studios in Nashville, TN, Mike and Brian introduce WorshipLife.com’s newest podcast, WorshipLife Podcast w/ Mike Harland! Together, Mike and Brian, recognize the importance of having conversations with churches… getting churches talking about, learning and observing what God is doing throughout the world. Through this every-other-week podcast, we’ll talk about issues and questions, interact with our listeners, bring encouragement and support and information that will be helpful to Worship Leaders all around the country — all of this to help Worship Leaders live out God’s great commandment, “To love the Lord your God with all your HEART, all your SOUL, and all your MIND.” Matthew 22:37
