HOST: Mike is the Director of LifeWay Worship Resources. Otherwise known as our Head Coach. Mike has an amazing, God-given passion for Worship! When he’s not directing 30+ employees or working with some of the best Christian writers/arrangers, you’ll find him leading worship in various churches around the country. You might also find him writing/arranging songs, or helping disciple the next generation of worship leader. In his, few and far between, spare moments, you’ll find him writing his next book, playing basketball, or spending time with his family. Did you know he learned most of what he knows about ministry on football and baseball teams? Mike is LifeWay Worship’s very own Music Minister/Worship Pastors. The titles are never ending.
Thanks for the podcast. I am a Minister of Worship and students at a church that runs about 350-400 in worship. Our pastor of 25 years moved 2 months ago to another ministry opportunity. I am the senior member of the staff with almost 17 years in this position as Worship and Student minister. I have been asked to take the task of leader during our transition time. I have two secretaries, one full time and another part time, two part time children and junior high ministry leaders. Our interim is preaching on Sundays only and I oversee the weekly workings in the office and pastoral duties. Wow, this podcast came at a great time. Even though I am the leader, I don’t feel like I am given the freedom to make decisions that need immediate attention. example, Air conditioning went out in building and I called the repair folks. nope, gotta have permission from Properties since I am not the pastor. duh… I have enjoyed the work and am very much appreciated, but nobody but someone who has been there can understand the mental stress. Prayer greatly appreciated. Thanks you guy for a timely podcast.
I’m really glad this came at a good time for you Tony – it’s a huge challenge and great spiritual responsibility, but God will help you. The church will be blessed by your leadership in this season!
