Artist: Chris Tomlin
Album: Love Ran Red
Label: sixstepsrecords/Sparrow Records
Chris Tomlin might be the most recognized songwriting/artist name of the last decade in Christian music. His global, worship-leading ministry is unparalleled and his songs speak for themselves.
Chris’ latest album release, “Love Ran Red,” is filled, from beginning to end, with moving and inspiring songs that are rich in theology and artistically uncompromised. On this release, it is with unquenchable passion and compelling craftsmanship that Chris tells the story of Christ’s sacrifice and resurrection. Simply stated — when I hit play, I can not stop listening until the entire album is over.
Listening to select songs like Greater, At the Cross (Love Ran Red), Almighty, Jesus Loves Me, and Jesus, This Is You, a clear picture of Jesus’ love, mercy, forgiveness, majesty, and power unfolds. The focus of the album becomes poignant and personal in the intimate ballad, I Will Boast. Moreover, Tomlin brings us a breath of fresh air in his uplifting and celebratory song about The Lord’s Supper entitled, The Table. The deluxe version of the album is more than worth the extra cents in order to be captured by the spectacular new anthem, In the End, by Jason Dyba.
This highly-anticipated release does not leave me empty or disappointed! In fact, I find the unmistakable Christ-centered theme for this album to be timely and transformational. “Love Ran Red” is a remarkable collection of songs that Churches and Christians everywhere should be singing again and again!
