Artist: Jeremy Camp
Album: I Will Follow
How encouraging it is to see someone mature in his faith as he matures as an artist! Once again, Jeremy Camp delivers bold faith and sound in his brand new album, “I Will Follow,” on Stolen Pride Records/Sparrow Records. Die hard Jeremy Camp fans will instantaneously fall in love with this project. It delivers exactly what you would expect from Jeremy’s pen and amazing vocal gifts.
The soulful pop rock center of the record is wrapped in energetic guitar-drenched tracks, stunning background vocals, thunderous drums, and brilliant programming. Jeremy’s lead vocals on each song are filled with conviction and are second-to-none. Musically, this project does not leave one feeling empty-handed.
Perhaps the most notable thing about this recording is that the lyric content is theologically rich and solid. The scriptural focus and deep dive are refreshing and compelling. The entire work is uplifting and transformational. Not one song stops short on truth. There is great emphasis throughout the album on the power of Christ and His resurrection.
Although every song is solid, I was particularly taken by Living Word, I Will Follow (You Are With Me), Christ In Me, Can’t Be Moved, Same Power, and Be Still (available on the Deluxe Edition). Truthfully, it is difficult to single out any one cut… the entire list of tunes is extraordinarily strong.
The Church seems to be crying out for a new song to sing these days. I believe this Jeremy Camp album has the potential to be a catalyst for a new day in worship music for the Church to sing. This is simply an absolute must-have album!
