Although the album is a few years old, I want to shine a spotlight on a truly wonderful project that is full of incredible new hymns for the Church. Modern Hymnal 2.0 was released in 2012 by Integrity Music and is a refreshing collection of brand new songs! Due to the heart cry of the millennial generation, churches far and wide are returning to hymnody for their congregational worship services. This project introduces powerful new hymns to just such a church.

Up and coming artist, Chris McClarne, is a featured worship leader on the project. He is joined by other notable worship leading artists, including Tim Hughes, Aaron Keyes, Sarah Sadler, Derri Daugherty, Chris Eaton, Katie Gustafson, and Andy Bromley.

John Hartley, a man who is not only an incredibly gifted musician/songwriter/producer but also loves the Church deeply, produced the album. His intentionality to serve the congregation with great songs and trustworthy arrangements shines throughout this project.

A few songs stand out for me: Immortal Invisible, Christ Is Able, Psalm 62, I Know That My Redeemer Lives, and We the Church. The entire grouping of tunes is rich in theological content and the music is compelling.

If you’re looking for new hymns to sing during your corporate worship gatherings, don’t overlook this phenomenal collection. Download a copy of this album today from iTunes!
