Album: Love Riot
Label: Fair Trade Services
Newsboys fans, here it is… the long-awaited and highly-anticipated studio release, Love Riot! This powerful new album was produced by Mark Needham, (mixing credits include Imagine Dragons and Shakira); and Zach Hall (Five Knives); as well as Seth Mosley (TobyMac, for KING & COUNTRY) and Mike O’Connor for Full Circle Music. In short, if you’ve been waiting for the next generation of the Newsboys to blow your mind, you won’t be disappointed!
Just when you thought Newsboys had gone as far as they could go with the maturation and evolution of their iconic sound, they take a leap forward that is both revolutionary and constraining. The sonic landscapes combine enormous guitars and epic drums with bold vocals (Tait has never sounded better, btw) and accents that rival the audacious intricacies of soundtracks for a legendary sci-fi movie.
And even bigger than the production value of the recording are the songs! Like few other artists in Christian Music, Newsboys raise up songs that are equally as impactful in Sunday morning church worship services as they are on Christian radio stations around the world. My personal picks on this album are Guilty, You Hold It All (Every Mountain), No Longer Slaves, Family of God, Committed, and What I Want Them To Say.
Watch here as the Newboys give a little insight into the album:
Newsboys, I wholeheartedly applaud this recording! The message is incredibly timely and inspiring. The artistry is second to none. I expect this project to have deep and enduring impingement upon culture.
Worship leaders, buy this album now! Seriously! Right now!
