I love Psalm 90 – it is perhaps the oldest one in the Psalms, written by Moses. Verse 15 always gets my attention – “Make us rejoice for as many days as You have humbled us, for as many years as we have seen adversity.”
There it is, plain and simple – joy and humility are linked. And humility and adversity are linked. So, we can assume that joy and adversity are also linked. If you look at in procession it goes like this – Adversity produces humility and humility produces joy.
Do you want joy in your life? Them embrace adversity and value it as the instrument God is using to produce the humility where the joy is found.
So whatever you are facing – whatever is going on in your life, always remember –
It is in the hard part that God pours out grace.
It is when you are weak that you are strong.
It is in adversity that you find His joy and the strength to keep on keeping on.
