Due to the events pertaining to COVID-19, LifeWay Worship Publishing and Records are allowing gratis permission for the use of their songs and masters in live internet broadcast of church services. Churches may leave each respective recorded service on their various websites/pages up to one week per service.
If permission, per service is needed for longer than the granted period of one week a license, at standard fees is required and must be requested via our administrator, www.musicservices.org.
1. Obtain a Streaming License from CCLI.com. This license will cover more than 300,000 copyrights you may want to stream. This is non-negotiable and must be acquired before streaming of ANY musical content. https://us.ccli.com/streaming-license-terms-of-agreement/
2. Request a Master Permission. You do not need a license or request permission for each track per service as long as you strictly follow the policy and are 100% certain that the songs/tracks you wish to post are owned/produced by LifeWay Worship Publishing (Broadman Press, McKinney Music and Van Ness Press) and Records. The term of this gratis permission for a church to live internet broadcast their service embodying the Composition(s) and/or Master(s) owned by the above named companies shall extend through August 15, 2020. After this date, all terms and conditions pertaining to this gratis permission shall be considered null and void and standard rates and fees set forth by the above mentioned companies, Music Services, and/or the music industry will apply.
Churches should be advised that posting to their own websites as well as Facebook will be more conducive for live streaming services. YouTube may be difficult when using tracks, due to their use restrictions/guidelines. In addition, this special permission is for live streaming only and does not cover the archiving of the videos.
